Preparing for the Eucharist

When the light is brought to the candle, the wick hardly glimmers for a few seconds, but then the light takes hold, finds its source of oil and grows into a steady, bright flame.

Such must be the Spirit of Christ Jesus when He illumines a chosen soul, waits softly to ensure His Spirit has been received, and passes on.

Candlelight glows, dependent on wax or oil with a crackle; and lanterns shine with a hum by the powers of gas or electricity.

The eternal Light is silent and pervasive throughout infinity: the Light that spreads perpetually burning with the flame of Love.
